a little bit of sunshine

well i've been up, dressed, moving and 'out & about' horrendously early two days in a row. spotted all this on my travels. i hope wherever you are that you're enjoying the sunshine!

i like this dress...i wonder how easy it would be to recreate?

superglue strikes again

yep, that's dried superglue!

you would think i would've learned after many of the infamous incidents of the last ten years-  the 'nearly lost more than one layer of skin trying to extract finger from side of tube' trauma in 1999 to the 'two bottles of nail varnish remover later & the arm of my sunnies is finally dislodged from being sandwiched between two fingers' of 2008 to the 'thong stuck to the kitchen floor with my foot still in it, while other foot & thong are moving freely ' of 2009. but alas i have not!

here is the photographic evidence that yet again a tube of superglue has inflicted me with pain. fortunately the clone trooper's hand is now reattached, it can no longer rotate, but that hasn't appeared to prevent him from playing with his pals. i, on the other hand am off to buy some rubber gloves, which i will now store with the superglue, & wear every time i whip out the tube. lets hope their adoption leads to a decline in my injuries!

happy snaps

it is very late.
between the sounds of possums climbing up & over the fence,  teeth grinding from one room, combined with such fierce snoring i am almost certain the roof will surely implode, and the constant dripping of rain, means that yeah- the rest of the house is sleeping peacefully, except moi!
am attempting to use my time productively, by organisng my electronic photo albums.
just found two piccies i took the morning of my sister's wedding. we never ended up posting anything about her big day. but never the less it was a beautiful event & loads of fun was had by all.
these snaps were captured along the mornington back beach.
i love them because of where they are (the beach) & what they represent (the quiet hour the two of us spent together before all the 'official' preparations for the day began).

muffin anyone?

guess what?
my sister ( who is also my lovely Camelia Sisters co- founder ) is in town. YIPPEE! :)
really, her arrival is my best excuse this week for stopping to have cake, or in this particular instance- a muffin!
(usual excuses range from 'too many eggs, so i had to bake a cake' to 'it is what Marie Antoinette would've wanted!' )
this batch of muffins were an experimental recipe that i whipped up today. i'm hoping that they'll have a 4-5 day 'shelf life' as i've substituted butter for olive oil & they are milk free.

Banana & Peach Gluten Free Muffins
1 mashed Banana
1/2 cup of chopped fresh Peach
1 cup of Coconut
1/4 cup of Olive Oil
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup of Caster Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Maple Syrup
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 cup of Gluten Free Plain Flour
1 tsp of Baking Powder

1. chuck everything into a bowl. grab a fork & mix mix mix
2. once everything is mixed, spoon batter into an oven tray
*TOP TIP: ditch your metal tray & embrace silicone. silicone muffin trays are tops!

3. bake @ 180 degrees for 30ishmins. Prod with a skewer just to be certain they are cooked through
4. leave to cool in the tray for a bit, before swiftly & almost effortlessly plopping each little muffin onto a wire rack!

this recipe makes 10.
they are super tasty on there own, but i intend to cover them in cream cheese icing tomorrow for the 'official tasting'!
